New York Hudson Valley, 18th century. A time when common ailments could be life-threatening, and medicinal cures were not from doctors but found in the surrounding natural terrain. Is it a medical cure or is it witchcraft? A Certain Cure for the Bite of a Mad Dog is a micro-opera inspired by historic manuscripts found in the Historic Hudson Valley archive containing recipes that extend beyond food to life-saving medicinal home remedies found in the domestic sphere.
